This is the lighting stand to buy.

I own a multitude of standard lighting stands. None of them compare to this Avenger C-Stand. It is rock solid, bends and twists into any position needed, and holds an enormous amount of weight. My 5' octabox hangs like a feather without any counter balance weight needed. The black cuts down on reflections and I have yet to have an issue with the paint scraping or chipping off. McNally's Right!

McNally talks about "C-stand Complete" in his books on his blog and in person on The FlashBus Tour. I finally had a situation where I felt like I should buy one and all I can say is that McNally is right. This is an important, useful, versatile and awesome stand. I love it and will be looking for another soon.

The Avenger A2030DKIT High 9.8' C-Stand 30 Kit includes A2030D detachable "turtle" base that is easily removed to facilitate transportation. A light head can be mounted to the base directly with the aid of a stand adapter. The innovative design on the Century Stand base allows individual legs to be set at any angle and can be positioned in locations not possible with classic stands.
