This all-in-one microphone sports a clever dual-capsule design, allowing you to secure the best possible mic positioning for your specific needs, from TikTok videos to documenting your family vacation with clarity and poise.
Choose among four different modes depending on what kind of audio you want to record. The mic plugs into the 3.5mm TRS input of your camera, or the 3.5mm TRRS headphone jack of your smartphone. A dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack allows you to monitor audio straight from the mic whenever you want to. The built-in battery lasts up to 20 hours, and charges over USB. A built-in windshield effectively reduces ambient wind noise, and two outdoor furry windmuffs are supplied, as are all the cables you'll need—including the USB charging cable.
With its clever design, the mic lends itself to many different purposes. Capture selfie videos with clarity using the mono mode. Use the Tight Stereo mode for locational audio events, such as weddings or parties. The Wide Stereo mode is suitable for anything from concert recording to B-roll ambiance pickup. The Bidirectional Front/Rear mode is an ideal choice for two-person live interviews.
The Comica Audio Traxshot features two separate mic capsules that can be independently oriented to capture the audio for a variety of purposes. The mic has an integrated shoe mount for your device. This shoe is outfitted with a proprietary Air-Float shockmount that absorbs vibrations in all directions, minimizing handling noise. You'll also find a 1/4"-20 thread at the bottom for mounting the mic on a tripod.
For outdoor shooting, a low-cut filter and two included furry windmuffs help reduce low-frequency noise caused by stronger wind and/or camera shake. The rugged, all-metal construction provides additional shielding against RF interference.
The Traxshot features a continuously variable gain knob to adjust your recording level on the fly as well as a low-cut switch to ameliorate any low-frequency rumble issues. The 3.5mm audio output allows you to plug a set of headphones into the mic itself, so you can monitor the quality of your audio while shooting. A high-resolution IPS display clearly shows you the microphone status and battery life.
