A 3D-printable camera support, the edelkrone FlexTILT Head 3D is an economical, partly DIY version of the popular FlexTILT Pan/Tilt Camera Head. It attaches to your tripod or other support and provides pan and tilt functionality for framing your shots as desired. It adjusts at the joints via a constant friction technology. Similar to the standard FlexTILT head, the FlexTILT Head 3D supports up to 5 lb loads. It features a 3/8"-16 thread on the bottom and provides a 1/4"-20 mounting screw on top.
The FlexTILT Head 3D is one of the initial products edelkrone has released as part of its 3D-printable product development initiative. What you receive is a small box featuring screws and similar small components—these are standard CNC-machined parts that are not 3D-printed. At the same time, a 3D-printable download file is provided that contains all the specs for printing the remaining components, which you can print in the colors of your choice. Along with this, a downloadable assembly guide is provided.
Simply take the 3D-printable file to a vendor offering 3D printing services and print out all these components, or print them out on your own 3D printer. Then just put everything together using the assembly instructions. edelkrone has tested and approved the following 3D printers: Ultimaker, Prusa i3 MK3S, and Zaxe.
Note:
The specifications in the Specs tab apply only when 3D printing with minimum 80% infill density.
